The boy died of cardiac arrest while playing Garba

At the spot where the boy died, Garba organizers observed two minutes of silence for him. To support his family, they also decided to postpone the Garba celebration for a whole day. On the sixth day of Navratri celebrations in Kheda district of Gujarat, a 17-year-old boy passed away after suffering a sudden heart attack while participating in Garba. Volunteers took him to the hospital and started CPR on him, but upon arrival, doctors declared him dead. On Friday, while playing Garba at the Kapadvanj ground, the boy, identified as Veer Shah, complained of dizziness and lost consciousness.

On the sixth day of the festival in Kapadvanj, Kheda district, 17-year-old Veer Shah unfortunately passed away while performing the vibrant Garba dance. This comes just as Navratri celebrations are taking place. “A 17-year-old boy, Veer Shah, was playing Garba at the Garba venue in Kapadvanj when he complained of discomfort and became unresponsive,” said Dr. Aayush Patel, MD, who provided the facts. He quickly received attention from a group of volunteers who performed cardiovascular resuscitation. We checked his vitals and there was no pulse. There were no respiratory symptoms or reactions. Three rounds of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were performed on him. We transported him by ambulance to the hospital. However, the hospital still declared him dead.”

Veer Shah’s hometown was shaken by the sudden news of his death, and locals felt hopeless. The news of Veer’s untimely death reached his father, Ripal Shah, who was unaware of the unfolding tragedy. When the tragic event occurred, Ripal Shah and his wife were deeply involved in the joyous Navratri celebrations at another Garba location in Kapadwanj. Ripal Shah pleaded with celebrities to be careful and said, “Be careful while playing Garba, don’t continue playing without taking a break.” Ripal Shah was distraught. Today, I lost my baby and I hope no one else has to go through the same thing.”
