You might not think teen dramas are that sad, but trust us, All the Bright Places will have you bawling your eyes out. Violet Markey (Elle Fanning) is struggling to deal with the death of her sister a year earlier in a car crash when she meets loner student Theodore “Theo” Finch (Justice Smith).
The two form a bond and team up for a school project that finds them examining their lives and the troubles they are both dealing with; Markey with her sister’s death and Finch the abuse suffered as a child at the hands of his father. When Alex does eventually discover the truth about his past when his mother dies, the brothers must work through their emotions and find a way to deal with their experiences.

Gina Rodriguez scores the job of a lifetime writing for Rolling Stone magazine but is dumped by her boyfriend of nine years. In an attempt to make her final night a joyous occasion, her two closest friends organize a night on the town, but nothing works out as planned.

Based on Bundy’s former girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall’s memoir, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy, the movie takes place over several years as Bundy is investigated for a series of murders and eventually found guilty and sentenced to death.
At times disturbing, it’s the cast of this movie that really shines, with Zac Efron unrecognizable as Bundy with adequate support provided by Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, Jeffrey Donovan, Haley Joel Osment, and John Malkovich.
24. Into the Wild (2007)
Into the Wild is heartbreaking stuff. Based on Jon Krakauer’s book about the life and times of Christopher McCandless, it’s a harrowing story about one man’s want to live off the grid, detached from society. What begins as a spiritual journey ends with McCandless (Emile Hirsh) realizing that true happiness can only be found with friends and family. Unfortunately, he only realizes this as he lies dying from eating poisonous roots and berries.
It’s a sad end to a wonderful film made even greater thanks to the Eddie Vedder soundtrack and stunning scenery seen throughout the movie.
