A banned YouTuber is said to have sent fake copyright strikes through Soundcloud to other content creators and bragged about it in the process.
According to DNSL, a Second Life YouTuber, he recently received a copyright strike after allegedly using a Soundcloud recording. As a result, his content was taken off the platform.
In his video, “I’m Being Deplatformed,” DNSL explains, “This isn’t music or anything, this is literally just someone’s voice. So this person backed up their own voice on Soundcloud and then filed a copyright claim.”
DNSL further alleges that the same individual issued similar copyright strikes on other Second Life channels. “This individual has de-platformed three Second Life content creators, three in the past month.”
DNSL refused to publicly name this annoying YouTuber, however, he suggested that they themselves were once creators of Second Life content. However, this particular member of the community was allegedly banned for being “too toxic.”
“Now in a jealous rage, he’s just trying to eliminate any Second World content creators. He was completely banned from YouTube and somehow he was still able to do this,” DNSL said.
It was further revealed that this YouTuber used his old username and remained active on YouTube despite being banned, even providing a video of the YouTuber in question boasting about the copyright strike.
Although DNSL refused to directly identify the YouTuber in question, others in the community soon revealed that the name in question was BritBongReturns, a Second Life YouTuber who has been accused of scamming YouTubers and other streamer and banned on both Twitch and YouTube.
In the video DNSL posted on its subreddit, BritBong can be seen boasting about the false copyright strike, saying: “They won’t respond to the DMCA. They won’t do that. Because they’re so timid, they won’t sue you, they’ll go broke or just relapse.”
In the video, BritBong can be seen bragging about its copyright strikes on other YouTube channels, even getting one channel banned for multiple strikes.
