The fake Cristiano Ronaldo account was finally banned by TikTok after becoming one of the fastest growing accounts on the app ever. And now Lionel Messi’s profile is trying to recreate it.
TikTok may have started out as a platform just for creators and artists, but it has grown into something that many social media users check on a daily basis.
It became another medium to share their lives and daily happenings, and of course, celebrities also participated. Whenever a new celebrity joins and gets a meme about them, their follower count usually increases massively.
We’ve seen celebrities gain over 1 million followers in their first day, however, the Cristiano Ronaldo impersonator has everyone fooled – including TikTok itself – as it becomes a talent. fastest growing account ever.
Fake Cristiano Ronaldo’s success on TikTok leads to Messi imitations
Account – named cristianoronaldo_nassrfc. – first appeared on TikTok on September 26. It began uploading highlights from the Portuguese superstar’s matches in Saudi Arabia.
There are also videos of impostors meeting fans mixed in with those highlights, making it seem real. The majority of the videos reached over 10 million views as the account’s follower count grew to over 6.3 million.
However, as NoahGlennCarter points out, the account was terminated after its huge success. The impersonation, combined with uploading featured copyrighted content, probably would have shut TikTok down pretty easily. However, it seems like the account is being pushed hard.
Of course, there was also an attempt from impersonator Lionel Messi. It’s aptly named LeoMessi_CFMiami, but it doesn’t attract millions of followers like Ronaldo.
That account followed suit, posting two highlight clips of Messi’s matches at Inter Miami. It has only attracted 100,000 followers but has been called fake by viewers. Perhaps it won’t be long before that too will be banned.
The clue that these accounts are fake is the name – famous stars are unlikely to have the group in their username. So, be wary before following them.
