Bethenny Frankel says there is a “reckoning” within her and the industry
Frankel isn’t shy about his views on ‘reality TV reckoning’. In fact, she is actually leading the group of celebrities she encourages to join her ‘union’ towards higher salaries and safer environments on set.
Frankel’s efforts to unionize reality TV stars and eliminate production negligence were so successful that her pressure led NBCUniversal to strengthen its workplace guidelines.
The new guidelines urge reality TV stars not to drink too much alcohol while filming, support mental health following scandals and ensure that confidentiality clauses do not come into play to have You can discuss anything while filming.
Although Frankel’s call for a union of reality TV stars is just beginning, she has faced a lot of criticism from Bravolebrities and her former fans, especially after claiming that Andy Cohen never “protected” her during her Seasons on Real Housewives of New York.
Since receiving so much backlash, Frankel took to her Instagram on Sunday to explain how she feels about how the media perceives her, saying, “I tried Try to be honest when sharing your opinions on popular topics… Conflict and judgment have a reality TV effect. It’s a phenomenon.”
“To succeed in reality TV, you have to kill or be killed,” Frankel continued. Not getting dirty is getting fired… People say we signed up for this. I don’t know what I signed up for but would do it again so I wouldn’t be broke and scared… Did I bite the hand that fed me? Maybe so, but maybe the hand deserves to be bitten.”
Frankel later apologized to those she may have offended in her quest to unite reality TV stars, saying, “I apologize to those I have judged and criticized. I need to find the line between having a constructive discussion and expressing my opinion.”
Frankel continued, “The real reckoning is right, it is real, and I will set an example and progress for myself and my daughter. This is not only a calculation within an industry but also my own calculation…”
Even though Frankel just released her statement to the public, she’s still making headlines for her ‘Just B With Bethenny Frankel’ podcast, as she just had RHOA’s NeNe Leakes on set to talk about how both of them were treated to filming their respective housewives shows.
