A TikToker who excitedly shared with viewers her “first watermelon of the season” appeared confused after discovering it was a squash.
According to Katie Zornes, “There is nothing quite like watermelon grown in the garden.” However, what about squash grown at home?
Through ‘tri_ing_to_live’ on TikTok, Katie used the platform to share with her viewers what she thought was the first watermelon of the season.
But what she found instead left Katie as confused as the viewers.
“I just want you to share this moment with me,” Katie said, cutting into the misidentified watermelon. “It could be bad, it could be good. I feel like it will be good.”
Well, it’s definitely something – just not watermelon. Seemingly speechless, Katie stared inside her creation before asking, “What am I looking at here?”
A taste test confirmed that what Katie actually picked from her garden was a squash – only she didn’t remember growing it.
TikTok: tri_ing_to_liveKatie pointed out that the body should have been an obvious clue.
“Do I remember growing pumpkins in a Connecticut field? Until I found out it was a pumpkin,” Katie said. She also admitted that she was sad that she picked the pumpkin before it had a chance to grow into a “full pumpkin nest.”
However, viewers enjoyed the extreme emotional upheaval, with one person commenting: “I’m so glad you captured this moment! [Laughing my ass off], made my day.” Another wrote: “The look on your face is priceless! I’m sorry you cut the pumpkin but this is amazing.”
Luckily, one viewer even gave suggestions on how to use zucchini so it doesn’t go to waste; “Green pumpkin can be made into a delicious dish like zucchini.”
