Nate Diaz has hit back at Jake Paul’s claim that he is making “outrageous” statements and demanded another fight, with the UFC legend claiming they could fight on New Year’s Eve.
After defeating Deji and Nate Robinson early on, Jake Paul’s boxing record was bolstered by fights with former mixed martial artists. ‘The Problem Kid’ has two wins over Tyron Woodley, as well as a win over Nate Diaz and Ben Askren.
Jake’s win over Diaz is his most recent conquest in the boxing ring, after he earned a unanimous decision victory in August. Since then, there have been rumors that the pair could rematch but this time in an MMA cage.
There doesn’t appear to be any progress being made on that front and reports have emerged of Jake being involved in “preliminary talks” with other contenders. However, it seems Nate is still hungry to return – at least in the boxing ring.
Nate Diaz criticized Jake Paul for being “stupid” for announcing a rematch
During Jake’s recent appearance on the NELK Boys’ FULL SEND podcast, he claimed that Nate had made “outrageous” statements during negotiations for a fight – and that he was eager to Meet the UFC legend in a cage.
However, Nate did not completely agree with the retelling of everything. “You’re full of s*it, I didn’t ask for s*it,” he said tweeted on October 9. “Tomorrow I’m fighting you in MMA, the problem is you suck and I don’t work for stupid p*ssyFL, neither do you.
“The rematch is in boxing, the trilogy is in MMA. You need time to practice anyway, you suck. It was a good New Year’s Eve.”
As noted, Jake’s previous offer of a boxing match and an MMA fight came when he signed his agreement to join the PFL. However, Nate has been adamant he will not compete in the PFL cage and will only do it for the UFC.
Given Jake’s feud with Dana White, that will probably never happen, but at least we can see them in the boxing ring again.
