Love is Blind fans criticize Milton for mocking Lydia’s English 2023

Milton and Lydia in Season 5 of Love is Blind may be in love, but some fans were upset by him mocking her speaking skills.

Love is Blind fans have criticized Milton for criticizing his fiancé Lydia’s English skills.

After the couple met for the first time outside the gym, many viewers couldn’t help but notice how he continuously mocked her English.

English is not Lydia’s first language, instead Spanish is her mother tongue. However, even though fans believe her bilingual skills should be celebrated, they still point out how Milton constantly laughs at his attempts to speak the language.

As a result, Love is Blind audiences rallied to call for Milton to participate.

Milton from Season 5 of Love is Blind has become a divisive figure among the show’s die-hard fans. While some fans were under the impression that Milton was the “most mature” of the group, despite the fact he was the youngest contestant, others thought his behavior was revealing his immaturity.

According to many viewers, the clearest sign of Milton’s lack of maturity comes from the way he treats Lydia. Some have accused the 24-year-old of “denial”, in which he insults Lydia in an attempt to lower her self-esteem, thereby making her less likely to leave him.

“Lydia is not my favorite person, but Milton acting like her English is trash is annoying,” one fan of the show wrote on Twitter. “She is bilingual with a unique voice. A woman doesn’t need flashcards or a tutor.”

Of course, this tweet refers to the moment Milton met Lydia outside the classroom when he insisted she practice her English skills using flashcards.

Beyond that, however, some fans simply felt Milton’s comments were just a form of emotional teasing and that Lydia seemed to enjoy the joke.

“Both of them are insensitive and she seems to really enjoy their banter,” said one fan on the Love is Blind Subreddit. “Not everyone has the same triggers, so I wouldn’t care about things that aren’t even things.”
