Conor McGregor had nothing but praise for Dillon Danis after his loss to Logan Paul in the boxing ring.
After months of back and forth, Logan Paul and Dillon Danis finally faced each other on October 14. Danis, a jiu-jitsu world champion and MMA fighter, was clearly out of his depth in the boxing ring and that Paul is the man who dominates every round with a significant reach and size advantage.
However, the fight took an unexpected turn in the final round when Danis landed a double-leg takedown and attempted a guillotine choke. Both actions are illegal in boxing and ultimately resulted in Danis being disqualified and Paul winning.
That said, Danis’ ability to go 6 rounds against Logan Paul did not go unnoticed.
McGregor was “impressed” by Danis’ performance in the ring
It didn’t take long for former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Danis’ training partner to share their opinions on the fight, Go to Twitter to share that he was “impressed” by Danis’ performance. McGregor provides more analysis of the fight in one The audio clip was shared just minutes later.
“Aren’t you happy?” McGregor started. “Look, I’m impressed. Good shots. Need to trust those shots more and let them go. Some of them were fine. Some of them he threw were fine, he just needed to let them go a little further,” the former UFC champion continued, honestly analyzing Danis’ performance.
McGregor’s comments weren’t all compliments, however, as he made sure to give his opinion on Logan Paul’s actions: “What does your man do So? Couldn’t even shake him. Didn’t even hurt him.”
He continued, perhaps referring to Paul’s relief after the game, “Guess what, man? You are back in a dark place. Back in the locker room with your people, thinking about all the bad things… You’re still in the dark, man. You haven’t done anything.”
In his post-fight interview, Paul expressed his desire to fight McGregor next year, which further heated up the rivalry between the MMA and YouTube communities.
