Jack Laugher was born on 30 January 1995 in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Her parents’ names are David and Jackie Laugher. He completed his secondary education at Ripon Grammar School, a co-educational state grammar school in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Laugher loved diving when he was 7 years old. He was at Harrogate Hydro Swimming Pool with his family. There was a lifeguard who suggested he take diving lessons. He started learning to drive at Harrogate and District Diving Club in Hydro. When he was 14, he had an accident in which he broke his upper arm during a trampoline competition and had to have a metal plate implanted to hold his humerus together.

Jack Laugher started his career very early. In 2010, he won the one-meter and three-meter springboard titles at the European Youth Championships and World Youth Championships. In 2012 Laugher was selected for Great Britain’s 2012 London Olympics team. On August 6, 2012, he faced off against his opponents in the men’s 3 meter springboard event, but he lost and did not reach the semi-finals. He became World Youth Champion again in October 2012 and won the 3m springboard event in Adelaide, Australia.

Jack Laugher and his teammate Chris Mears won three silver medals in the 3m Synchronized event in the four events of the Fina/NVC Diving World Cup. Two of them are in China and one is in Russia

Jack Laugher teams up with Dan Goodfellow in the men’s 3m synchronized diving event. This was because his usual partner Chris Mears decided to take a break from competing and subsequently retire. He won a silver medal with Goodfellow in the 3m synchronized event at the World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea.

Olympic career

In January 2016, Laugher suffered a leg injury while training. At the 2016 Olympics, the team of Laugher and Mears became the first diving gold medal team for Great Britain in the men’s 3-meter springboard synchronized event.

At the 2021 FINA Diving World Cup held in Japan as an official test event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Laugher and Goodfellow won the gold medal in the 3m synchronized diving event. And then, at the Tokyo Olympics, Laugher and Dan Goodfellow finished 7th in the men’s 3m synchronized jumping event. He won a bronze medal in the 3m individual badminton event.
