A Canadian woman went viral on TikTok after claiming that a man she met at Hinge invited her on a surprise dinner date that ended with a trip to McDonald’s.
Sharing dating stories has become quite a popular thing to do on TikTok, with many users trying to fool others with their horror stories instead of when things went well.
Many failed dates often start on apps like Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble, where things seem completely normal during the talking phase but change when meeting in person.
Those meetings often end with a first date that takes place over dinner. We recently saw a clip that went viral after a woman refused to leave her car after her date took her to the Cheesecake Factory.
The TikToker claims Hinge took her to McDonald’s for their first date
However, Canadian TikToker Vanessa Payne may have beaten that clip after she claimed that a man in Hinge tried to surprise her with a dinner date and it ended up happening in McDonald’s.
“I was talking to this guy at Hinge and things were going really well and he asked me if he could take me out to dinner and I said yeah, sure, why not?
“So he just sent me the address, I didn’t even ask, I just went to the address and it was McDonalds. So stay safe out there,” she said in the video, which has received more than 330k views.
Many viewers also found the story quite hilarious, especially since Vanessa was able to tease the whole thing with the caption “at least I got a free diet coke”.
One person said: “When people ask why I don’t use the app, I show them this video. “The best part is having a McDonalds drink in your hand,” another added. “Ugh, it’s so tiring out there,” another commented. “TBH, I would understand that at this point,” another said.
Others say that since it’s a first date, it’s an acceptable choice. “I mean come on… this is a first date,” one person said. However, we’ve seen TikTok users serve their weddings with McNuggets.
