While shopping online on stream, IShowSpeed discovered counterfeit goods using his image and was unimpressed — calling his lawyer to resolve the matter.
Sometimes imitation sells better than innovation, or at least that seems to be the path many online retailers are following.
With the help of the Internet, it has become increasingly common for large companies to steal their ideas from others in the hope of making more profits.
Darren Jason Watkins Jr., known online as ‘IShowSpeed’, discovered this himself while streaming on YouTube and browsing Ali Express – only to discover the site sold a lot of the goods The clone has his face.
YouTube: IShowSpeedIShowSpeed was shocked to find his face on various products, from blankets to socks.
IShowSpeed is looking to buy “cheap**” for under $100 on the site, allowing viewers to choose what products to search for when someone suggests his own name.
“There’s no way I can join,” the YouTuber said but was shocked to see a page pop up full of fake goods. From socks to pillows to phone cases — everything can be purchased by slapping the IShowSpeed face on.
“What the hell?” IShowSpeed exclaimed, not hesitating to call his lawyer to “sue these people from China”.
IShowSpeed’s lawyer did not seem to accept this request, quickly finding all the necessary information and stating that the person behind the stolen photos could face heavy fines. Sending the website link to his lawyer, IShowSpeed said, “I mean man, I am [going to] buy [myself] one, but no.”
While it’s unknown what knockoffs IShowSpeed ultimately decided to buy, it seems likely the products won’t last long if his lawyer has anything to say about it. Be sure to check out all the latest entertainment news on our site here.
