A Mauricie driver in his 20s was killed early Thursday morning after colliding with the trailer of a pickup truck on the Laviolette Bridge. “The incident happened at 5:25 a.m. on Thursday while moving from the bridge to the north. “Our understanding is that the small car may have hit the trailer being pulled by a pickup truck from behind,” said Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, a sergeant with the Surete du Quebec. The 20-foot trailer was most likely invisible to the motorist. Then his car crashed into it. Following the collision, the driver was taken to hospital, where his condition was described as “very critical”. The hospital announced that he had passed away. The van driver was not injured.
