Kick streamer Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonnel’s attempt to reverse his freeze on Twitch received a lightning-fast response from the purple platform, but not in the way he expected.
Before being suspended indefinitely for “hateful conduct,” Destiny was one of the most controversial personalities on Twitch, being suspended multiple times. In 2020, he lost his bond over accusations of “encouraging violence.”
However, with Twitch now under the leadership of new CEO Dan Clancy, the purple platform has begun allowing banned streamers to apply to get their accounts back.
While this didn’t work for everyone, Destiny decided to give it a try and received feedback from Twitch almost immediately. Unfortunately, it didn’t go his way.
Twitch’s speed creates Destiny’s eternal appeal
During the November 22 broadcast of Kick, Destiny revealed that his appeal had been filed and he decided to file it immediately.
“I could tell right away that they had improved the appeals system because I was denied in record time,” he said. “It only took an hour to send me the rejection email.”
On X, formerly known as Twitter, Destiny tweeted screenshot of his rejection from Twitch, reiterating that he had never before had an appeal resolved so quickly.
“I have never had an appeal denied so quickly in my life,” he captioned the post.
Twitch’s email said that after reviewing his case in detail, it had decided that the permanent ban would be upheld. As a result, Destiny will remain on Kick, a platform for which he signed a non-exclusive seven-figure contract.
Destiny isn’t the only big name whose permaban appeal was denied recently. JiDion also had his appeal denied and criticized Twitch for not allowing him to spread his new religious beliefs.
