Taylor Swift shared with Time magazine details about her songwriting in an interview in which she compared her ongoing re-recording projects to Harry Potter.
Welcome to the world of Taylor Swift! She’s about to enter the biggest year of her career. She’s done two re-recording projects (1989 and Speak Now), conquered the world with her Eras Tour, broken box office records with her concert film and even found time to date.
Named Time’s 2023 Person of the Year, the pop singer talked about everything in her life, from Kenny Chesney’s heartbreak (it’s not what you think) to the pressures of fame .
Featuring three different covers, one of which features Swift’s cat Benji, the magazine’s special issue is packed with audio snippets. In a particularly interesting segment, Swift shared her feelings about the re-recording project.

Swift compared the re-recording project to popular book and movie franchises
In a lengthy conversation with Time magazine reporter Sam Lansky, Taylor Swift opened up about many things, including her thoughts on what the re-recording project means to her.
As Lansky says, the journey to find the different pieces is a “legendary” one.
“I’m collecting Horcruxes,” Swift said. “I’m collecting infinity stones. Gandalf’s voice keeps echoing in my head every time I write a new post. To me it is a movie now.”
She also revealed that the upcoming Reputation re-recording will feature “shot” vault tracks.
“It was a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslighted by the entire social structure,” she says. “I think a lot of people saw it and they were like sick snakes and flashing lights.”
There’s no word yet on when Reputation (Taylor’s Version) will be released. But her 34th birthday comes on December 13. Who knows, maybe there will be a surprise album release.
