The Government of India has extended the date for linking your PAN Card with your Aadhaar Card and the deadline for linking your documents to March 31, 2023. As per the IT Act, 1961, all PAN holders, who do not fall under the exempted category, are required to link their PAN with Aadhaar by 31.3.2023 from 1.4.23, unlinked PAN will no longer active. How to check PAN-Aadhaar link status
- Step 1: – Access the income tax declaration portal
- Step 2: – Click on “Quick Links” on the left side of the page and click on Aadhaar Link Status
- Step 3:- Enter your 10-digit PAN number and 12-digit Aadhaar number
- Step 4: – Click on “View Aadhaar Link Status”
Your Aadhaar number will be displayed on the screen if it has been linked. If Aadhaar is not linked as such, you must take action to link your documents. On the other hand, if your PAN and Aadhaar linking request is pending UIDAI authentication, you will need to check the status later.
If your Aadhaar is linked to another PAN, you may need to contact the competent AO to delink your Aadhaar and PAN. Your PAN is connected with additional Aadhaar. After successful confirmation, a message describing your Connect Aadhaar status will be displayed. The PAN holder will have to pay a penalty of Rs 1000 after the expiration date.
