First, let’s learn a little more about the movie. Rajesh Ganguly wrote the story for the 2023 period action thriller Chengiz, which he also co-wrote and directed with Neeraj Pandey. Jeet, Gopal Madnani and Amit Jumrani are the producers. The main actors in it are Shataf Figar, Rohit Roy, Sushmita Chatterjee and Jeet. Stunt Silva was responsible for designing the action scenes. On April 21, 2023, the Bengali and Hindi dubbed versions of Chengiz both premiered in India. It is the first Bengali film to be released simultaneously in Bengali and Hindi. Jaidev Singh killed Rashid Khan in 1976 to avenge his parents’ death. At the age of 16, he entered the Calcutta underworld and began working for notorious robber Omar Khalid, also known by his pen name Nalli Bhai, and changed his name to Chengiz.

After partnering with Nalli Bhai, Chengiz started to build his own criminal enterprise spanning Bengal, UP and Bihar. However, when he has to deal with his maternal uncle ACP Samir Sinha, who is tasked with shutting down Chengiz’s criminal enterprise, his life takes an unexpected turn. Three original songs, “Widda,” “Ebhabe Ke Daake” and “Ragada,” all written by Aneek Dhar and Kaushik-Guddu, form the soundtrack. Pranjal Das and Prosen are responsible for writing the lyrics. The film’s official Bengali trailer was published on November 30, 2022. The film’s official Hindi trailer was released on March 23, 2023. On April 3, 2023 , the official Bengali and Hindi trailer of the film was published.
Chengiz earned a total of between 0.35 crore ($44,000) and 0.37 crore ($46,000) on its first day of release. The Hindi dub version of the film opened in over 800 theaters across India, grossing 0.10 crore ($13,000) on its opening day. In its first weekend in India, Chengiz grossed a total of 0.74 crore ($93,000) (total) from national cinema chains. And on the tenth day, Chengiz can bring in 0.14 Cr. in Indian network. And it is expected that the film will do better in the coming days.
