LOVE Island couple Mitchel Taylor and Ella Barnes have put their romance on hold.

Ella, 23, and Mitch, 27, broke the news to fans today just weeks after they left the villa together – and Ella admitted she was “terrified” it couldn’t have worked.

During their time on Love Island and since they left, the couple have been plagued by ‘showmance’ rumours.

But they were united – they traveled from Sheffield to Kent to see each other.

In today’s post, Ella wrote: “I just wanted to come on here and let you all know because you deserve to know because I wouldn’t be where I am without you.

“Unfortunately, me and Mitch have decided to end our relationship. I really wanted things to work out and I’m devastated that our journey has come to an end.

“I wish Mitch the best and hope he finds happiness. It’s time for both of us to start a new chapter.

“Thank you so much for all the love and support. It means the world to me.”

Mitch added in his own post: “Good morning everyone. As you’ve probably seen Ella’s post, unfortunately our relationship has come to an end.

“We had no intention of finishing, but with our current busy lives and living on the other side of the country, it was extremely difficult for us to work.

“I wish Ella nothing but the best because she is a lovely girl and deserves the world.”

Mitch, 27, and Ella were kicked out of the Love Island villa just before the final after the other islanders voted them the least compatible.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the couple who got serious after Mitch finally decided to end things with Abi Moores to pursue Ella.

Abi was initially in a relationship with Mitch during their time in the Love Island villa – before Ella B stole him away.

However, recently Abi insisted that things are not what they seem.

She said: “I think there’s still something about Mitch – he’s still quite flirty, very close and friendly with me when I see him at events.

“I think Ella B is a bit put off by me saying we had a better relationship – but I’m not going to lie.”

Kady McDermott also made it clear that she thought the couple was fake after she left the show.

She said on the podcast: “Ella B and Mitch are fake on both sides. But we’re in the mansion with each other every second of the day, we know if there’s a real relationship or not, they’re acting.”
