A cleaner has shocked the online community after revealing what appeared to be “oysters” and “mushrooms” growing inside the dishwasher.
The invention of the dishwasher in 1850 certainly changed the game, saving countless hours of scrubbing in exchange for the simple task of stacking this handy appliance.
However, dishwashers still need to be cleaned regularly to ensure food particles, grease, insoluble detergents, and minerals in the water don’t accumulate inside.
Now a cleaner has shown viewers in horror what happens when this important step is skipped.
Using her TikTok account ‘cleanlikeapro’, Kate revealed a customer’s dishwasher filter to show what she saw as “oysters” and “mushrooms” inside.
“I have never seen anything as interesting as this,” she said. “Oysters mixed with some kind of mushroom? The taste is also very interesting.”
Having never encountered anything like this before, Kate put on two extra pairs of gloves and tried to make the dishwasher look “new.” Despite the “sparkling” results, Kate advised in her caption that viewers “Run, don’t walk to clean your dishwasher!”

Her message clearly had a strong impact, leaving many viewers feeling uncomfortable while watching the video. Some people even commented: “Just throw away the dishwasher at that time.”
Another said: “I was eating mango yogurt with chia seeds, now I’ve completely given up. I feel the need to deep clean my entire house [oh my God].”
