Lawren Hand and Brook Crumley Hand are the parents of Abby, born December 8, 2002. Completing her studies at Abraham Baldwin College (ABAC) and graduating from Berrien High School in 2021, she plans to enroll in the winter 2024 semester at Valdosta State University. At ABAC, Abby is actively involved in the Sigma Alpha sorority and values the camaraderie of her group members. Abby loves animals and pets more than she loves academics.
Her favorite things to do are crafts, gardening, working on old projects, and frequent trips to Fernandina Beach, Florida. Her diverse interests reflect her vibrant and complex personality. Tragically, a cotton picker had an accident on Highway 82 that killed ABAC student Abby Hand. Despite Abby’s tough spirit and natural warrior nature, the impact of the crash proves devastating. Unfortunately, Macon Hospital declared her dead. The community grieves the loss of a strong and passionate person following a tragic and unexpected tragedy.
Everyone will honor Abby’s life with a memorial service on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. Pastor Mark Stone will officiate at the funeral, which will be held in the Tifton Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home. There will be a graveside memorial service at Enigma City Cemetery following the event. On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., friends are invited to express their condolences at the same location. Escorts Mitchell Maluda, Zachary Ware, Thomas Snipes, Sam Snipes, Jake Purvis, Tanner Snipes and Ronald Harbin will help with the memorial service.
