Ruan Irving was only in one episode of Below Deck Med Season 8, but based on his IG bio, you would never know it.
Season 8 has been a roller coaster for Below Deck Mediterranean, and while it wasn’t entirely his fault, it started with Ruan Irving.
Cast as Bosun for the season, his job is to manage all the decks and be the leader meant to ensure that all the charters run smoothly.
Instead, he held people back by carrying forged documents instead of the proper documents he needed to board the yacht.
Because of this malfunction, Captain Sandy was forced to leave him on land and the season had to continue after this chaotic start. He was eventually replaced by Down Under’s Luka Brunton.
Even though it’s just one episode, Nguyen wants the world to recognize that he is still a reality TV star regardless of how long he has been active.

The first line of Ruan’s Instagram bio reads “Below Deck Mediterranean Part 8,” which is ironic since he was only in it for a few minutes.
His description also says “Yacht Captain”, which is not his role on the show.
However, viewers on Reddit are thoroughly enjoying it.
One fan wrote: “It’s so weird to have the information below in your bio when you were on an episode and got fired for lying about your credentials and paperwork, lmao .”
Another fan chimed in and wrote: “He got 48 seconds of screen time, I watched it last night and I couldn’t pick him out of the list!”
