Below Deck Med fans are demanding Ruan Irving return as bosun, claiming he deserves another spot on the show.
Season 8 of Below Deck Med saw Ruan Irving kicked off the boat because of paperwork issues. After being unable to arrange suitable masters or Yachtmasters in time, Ruan was asked by Captain Sandy to leave until he could arrange everything.
According to Captain Sandy, she said there was a “0.5% chance” that he could receive all of his appropriate certificates on time and that his allegedly forged tickets were “a big red flag”.
But after Ruan took to Instagram to explain himself, many fans petitioned for the former bosun to be given a second chance.
Does Ruan from Below Deck Med deserve a second chance on the show?
Following Ruan Irving’s awkward departure from Below Deck Med, the former bosun took to social media to offer an explanation.
According to Ruan, he was “scammed” regarding the Yachtmasters which had another man’s face on the ticket.
Furthermore, Ruan is facing the sudden death of his best friend and it was all recorded in episode 1.
As a result, many Below Deck Med fans are under the impression that Ruan should have been toned down a bit and that he deserved another chance as bosun.
“Can’t wait until you come back!” one fan wrote on his post.
Another agreed and wrote, “You definitely deserve a second chance next season!!”
“Come back next season!!!!” another fan said. “You deserve a second chance.”
However, despite the enthusiastic support, some other fans are still skeptical about Ruan and do not think he has what it takes to return. Additionally, many Below Deck viewers were upset when he told Captain Sandy that he went to school for his Yachtmasters in Monaco when Sandy countered that there was no school in Monaco.
“Not sure if he will come back to follow Sandy,” another viewer said. “There is still a question regarding the school in Monaco.”
Another commenter agreed and said: “So why do you say you sent to a school in Monaco when there is no school in Monaco? Do you still not understand this part???”
