Billie Eilish expressed her disappointment when she was exposed on Instagram after a red carpet event.
On December 2, Billie Eilish Attend Variety magazine’s Hitmakers eventwhere she was awarded Motion Picture Song of the Year for “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack.
During a red carpet interview, reporter Tiana DeNicola referenced a recent cover story and asked, “Are you interested in being in this story?”
Eilish gracefully replied: “No, I don’t, but I thought, ‘Isn’t that obvious’? I didn’t realize people didn’t know. I just don’t really believe it [coming out]. I was like, ‘Why can’t we survive’? I’ve been doing this for a long time and I don’t talk about it. Sorry.”

Following her appearance, the pop singer took to Instagram to criticize the publication for “hanging out” with her so publicly.
“Thank you Variety for my award and also for putting me on the red carpet at 11am instead of talking about anything else important,” she wrote. “I like boys and girls; Leave me alone about it, please. Literally who cares.
Billie Eilish is having quite an interesting year. The song “What Was I Made For?” Her work scored several Grammy Award nominations, including Song and Record of the Year categories. This song was also performed in Pop Solo Performance, alongside names like Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.
“What Was I Made For?” was co-written with his brother Finneas O’Connell, featured in Barbie and became a global hit, currently with 487 million streams on Spotify.
