Neil Currey Obituary: According to an Instagram post by his former coach Milos Sarcev, Neil Currey died at the age of 34. Sarcev posted on Twitter: “Absolutely surprising and heartbreaking news: that my former athlete @neil_currey died today… he committed suicide.
“My last/best memory of him was that happy face after winning the New York Pro and realizing his lifelong ambition of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia.”
“I am left speechless and overwhelmed by pain and sadness.” My deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. Neil, may God bless your soul.”
This comes just days after the death of famous professional bodybuilder Lisa Lyon, who died at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer.

No official confirmation of Currey’s death has yet been given. Milos Sarcev, former coach and great bodybuilding partner, revealed the death of the athlete. Sarcev called Currey’s death “heartbreaking” in an online memorial.
As word of Currey’s death spread, tributes poured in. “Hands down one of my favorite bodybuilders,” one fan added. “They took him away too soon.” Another stated that the death of the athlete “saddens” them.

Neil Currey was a professional bodybuilder and fitness fanatic from the United Kingdom. According to bodybuilding website Generation Iron, he was born and raised in the United Kingdom.
Neil began lifting weights in his teens while playing football at school. He slowly shifted his concentration to bodybuilding, following a strict gym and nutrition routine.
Neil Currey competed in the professional muscular category at the 2017 World Championships and finished fifth. His career took a big turn the following year when he won first place at the NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia Italia, earning him the Pro Card.
