A Canadian woman revealed that she went to Montana to save about $300 a month on groceries.
Grocery prices have increased exponentially over the past few years, and some predict prices will continue to rise throughout 2024.
To show off the significant price increase, Shelby & Dylan (@shelbyanddyl) recorded her husband’s reaction to the prices of different foods after he hadn’t been to the grocery store in a while.
The insane levels of inflation even caused Brandi Dustin (@kade1613) to drive from Roosville, British Columbia to a grocery store in Montana to save money.

Brandi reveals her grocery shopping habits on TikTok, explaining why she lives 45 minutes from the nearest “grocery station” in Canada. So she just drove 15 minutes to America to buy groceries.
Brandi highlighted the price difference on some items, including $6 cottage cheese, for which she would have paid $8.99 in Canada. She also explained how “cheap” meat prices are in America compared to her home country.
Brandi shows off pork ribs she bought for $4.76, ground beef for $6.90 and ground pork sausage for $3.74.
“I know they say support local, but right now, people are suffering so much, we’re all trying to get by and for me it’s a lot cheaper to go next door compared to shopping in my country,” she said. .
“2 FOR FIVE DOLLARS??? just one of those painkillers in Canada costs $7,” one commenter wrote.
“Canadians are driving to the US to buy food and Americans are driving to Canada to fill affordable prescriptions,” said another.
On October 5, Canada’s Innovation Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne revealed that the government is “implementing solutions to provide relief” from rising grocery prices.
