After stewardess Nat Scudder blamed Kyle for her exit from Season 8, Captain Sandy didn’t hold back on him.
Nat Scudder’s decision to leave Season is not a surprise. After all the events she had gone through alone with Tumi Mhlongo, there was only so much one person could endure.
The real dispute that finally pushed her over the edge was with Kyle Viljoen. Although they worked together in the previous Season, they continued to butt heads in Season 8 until a heated argument broke out.
In short, it was the arguments and negative comments on Kyle’s behalf that convinced Nat to take responsibility herself.
After explaining her reason for leaving to Captain Sandy Yawn, which meant exposing the truth about how Kyle acted, their boss did not accept it.

Did Captain Sandy of Below Deck Med just fire Kyle?
Angry with Nat leaving the Season, Captain Sandy went to Kyle and let him have it out in Episode 9’s most intense conversation of the Season.
“Every situation that happens on this boat, guess who is the common denominator? Your screaming match with Max, your screaming match with Jess [Asai] and your screaming match with Natalya. You are the one who always gets into shouting matches,” she said bluntly.
Captain Sandy also made it clear that she would never consider him for future Seasons of the show.
“You want to become a chief, I will never make you a chief again. You know why? Because you can’t even control your emotions. This is a professional scene, you understand? Your bullying, your yelling. I don’t want someone like you involved,” she added.
The end of the episode does not explicitly reveal whether Captain Sandy actually made the decision to fire Kyle. If she doesn’t make it, this is clearly his final warning to move on or find a new job.
