Chef Tzarina reveals her doubts about João as the Below Deck romance reaches new heights 2023

The romance between chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and Bosun João Franco on Below Deck Down Under may be coming to an end.

Season 2 of Below Deck Down Under is filled with romance. From Jaimee and Culver becoming boyfriend and girlfriend to Aesha’s longtime boyfriend showing up and surprising her, love is in the air.

One of the most surprising couples this season is Tzarina and João. João certainly wasn’t a fan favorite initially, based on his performance in Below Deck Med.

But he has consistently proven that he is a changed man and is now getting close to the Season 2 chef.

Tzarina revealed when he first came to replace Luke that he treated her best friend poorly and even called him a “womanizer.” Now that Tzarina is romantically involved with João, she begins to back down on her previous statement.

Does Below Deck Down Under’s Tzarina still like João?

In Episode 17, Tzarina and João went on a cute date to talk about their budding romance. However, the romantic moment passed very quickly.

João asks her to name a negative trait about him, and Tzarina responds by saying that she thinks he is fake. She also admitted that she didn’t know if he was serious or not and didn’t want to be hurt by him.

He didn’t seem to take her comment well, as evidenced by the fact that he decided not to sleep in her cabin like before.

It’s unclear whether Tzarina’s statement will cause them to officially end their relationship or if she will try her best to save it. Only time will tell what they decide to do.
