Chipotle is coming under fire online after a customer took to TikTok to share her disappointment over the “stingy” portions of a “super small burrito.”
American fast food chain Chipotle specializes in made-to-order Mexican cuisine, loved by customers for its ability to customize each dish.
Their motto of “honest food” has attracted many fans of this popular restaurant chain. Recently, however, some say quality has declined and point to problems at Chipotle.
Ari, who goes by the nickname ‘arimacgirl’ on TikTok, took to the social media platform to share her disappointment after receiving a super small burrito from Chipotle. And it turns out she’s not the only one.
“Had a bad day and all I wanted was a Chipotle burrito. I got a super tiny burrito instead,” Ari wrote on a video showing off the tiny burrito. In the caption, she added, “Sad is an understatement.”
The video went viral, receiving more than seven million views and 785,300 likes. Commenters were shocked by the tiny burrito, with many mistaking it for a potato.
“I was going to say, does Chipotle have potatoes?” one person wrote. Another said: “Chipotle workers acted like something was about to happen. [out of] their salary [for real].”

However, employees of the fast food chain came to their defense, claiming that the smaller portions were beyond their control.
“Managers will come up behind your back and yell at you for booking too much,” one former employee asserted. “As a former Chipotle worker, I used to have to come in an hour early for ‘portion training,’ where the manager would watch me as I scooped and then weighed it,” said the second.
