Fortnite star Cody ‘Clix’ Conrod has revealed a condition under which he will have to leave Twitch and sign with streaming rival Kick.
Kick has emerged as a major competitor to Twitch by offering streamers better sub-division, no ads, and more leniency when it comes to adult content – something that has caused many argumentative.
That said, Kick has also put in place some very lucrative deals to acquire some of the streaming world’s biggest names including xQc, Amouranth, Tfue and many more.
During a recent Twitch broadcast, Fortnite icon Clix stated his bid to join the blue platform, revealing the only way he would leave Twitch behind and broadcast on Kick.
Clix demanded more than 12 million USD to participate in Kick
According to Clix, “the only way” he would ever consider Kick is if they offered him some money which he would be foolish not to accept.
“The only way I would ever sign Kick is if it was for more than $12 million a year. It would be a period of time where I would look at myself and say, ‘Cody, you’d be stupid not to convert.
The streamer continued, explaining that the offer needed to be so good that his family would be angry if he didn’t agree.
“Honestly, that number is unreal,” he added, seemingly dismissing the possibility that Kick would come in with an offer of that magnitude.
Clix isn’t the only streamer asking Kick to sign for a huge sum of money. Notably, Dr Dispect demanded half of xQc’s $100 million contract – and although Kick negotiated with Doc’s team, nothing came of it.
“He’s one of the most exciting streamers in the industry, but fifty million is fifty million,” Kick Chief Product Officer Paulie Chianese said when asked about Doc joining the platform.
As such, it seems unlikely we’ll see Clix on Kick anytime soon, but with Twitch no longer offering streamers huge exclusivity deals, you never know what could happen.
