CodeMiko has revealed an incredible new VTuber model rendered in Unreal Engine 5, all done in a simulated “IRL stream.”
If there’s one streamer you can trust to push the boundaries of motion capture technology for VTubing, it’s CodeMiko. From her hyper-realistic models to her impressively precise motion capture, she has been an innovator from the start.
Of course, now that developers have gradually gotten their hands on Unreal Engine 5, it was only when CodeMiko created VTuber in the latest version of the game engine.
Revealed over two streams, she showed off her new VTuber model created in Unreal Engine 5, all displayed in an “IRL stream” in a virtual forest.
“This is an Unreal Engine 5 demo that shows how far we can go with VTuber streaming using existing technology!” CodeMiko wrote in his tweet showing off highlights of the broadcast.
In the clips and streams we can see how much she can use Vtuber technology with the UE5. She showed off real-time motion capture technology, how she was able to easily move around the virtual forest, and the incredible beauty of the renderings throughout.
Of course, this is all done in an “IRL stream,” where she takes a tour around the virtual jungle, observing simulated lions, elephants, and an impressive kaleidoscope of Butterflies fly around the locality.
Not only are her environments impressive, but some of the camera angles are surprisingly realistic in terms of what the IRL stream looks like, with shots that resemble vlogs. Although there is no trembling of real human hands.
Despite being a simulated “IRL stream,” CodeMiko has shown off various strange things she can do with models and environments, such as randomly placing her model in a swamp and drown them.
