He was selected to a Florida State League All-Star with Clearwater. Irvin pitched for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2018, posting a 14–4 record (leading the IL in wins and setting a franchise record) while also topping all AAA pitchers in ERA (2 .57) and WHIP (1.054) in 26 games (25 starts). He was awarded Most Valuable Pitcher in the International League, as well as a Midseason All-Star (starting the All-Star Game) and Pitcher of the Week twice during the season prize.
