Crocs has unveiled their latest design, the cowboy boot, and the Internet still hasn’t decided whether it’s a fashion statement or a disaster.
Crocs were once considered the “world’s ugliest shoes,” but that hasn’t stopped countless buyers from purchasing them, and the shoes have even become a top choice during the pandemic.
Now, the company is venturing into new territory with its latest design that rises above the standard ankle to give buyers a whole new look; crocodile cowboy boots.
However, the Internet is not completely convinced and there are divided opinions following the Western-inspired reveal.
“Fashion is dead. This is criminal,” wrote one person, clearly not a fan. Others called the boot “hideous” and another commenter said: “My sons and I are not buying this, respectfully.”
Although many people were appalled by the boot, Crocs claimed during the shoe’s launch that it was, in fact, inspired by their own fan base.
“For years, the buzz surrounding Crocs-inspired cowboy boots has grown, creating a veritable fan-driven movement that has spread across social media,” they said. Recognizing this passion, Crocs is making fans’ dreams come true, making the Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot a reality.”
So, while not for everyone, it looks like these boots are still expected to be a hit with fans of the brand. And already some people are showing up; “I really need these.”
With spin-boosting charm, the boots will launch on October 23 and will be available for a limited time, priced at $120 a pair for buyers. But better be quick, because as one person wrote; “Everybody in Texas will sell out of these faster than you can say Yee-Haw.”
