The long-running feud between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg has taken an unexpected turn, as Musk has once again sparked the rivalry with a bold new challenge.
During a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Musk once again challenged Zuckerberg to a duel, saying he’s ready to fight the Meta CEO “anytime, anywhere.”
Musk’s new challenge comes after concerns about a potential fight between the two appeared to have dissipated.
The idea of a confrontation between the tech giants arose after Zuckerberg reacted harshly to Musk’s initial suggestion of a fight in June. In late August, Musk publicly accepted the battle challenge, but Zuckerberg quickly noted that he’s not “holding his breath” that a fight will happen.
However, the fight suddenly attracted attention and Italy was even chosen to host the event at the historic Colosseum – a location that later became controversial.
“Italy is actually willing to let us use the Coliseum. So I said, ‘Well, you can’t say no to that, you know?’” Musk said on the Joe Rogan Experience.
But with Zuckerberg closely aligned with the UFC and UFC CEO Dana White expressing interest in promoting the fight, Musk is concerned about diminishing the venue’s historical integrity.
“We didn’t want a lot of advertising and UFC branding on the Coliseum because it’s a historic location,” Musk explained.
The controversy surrounding the location of the fight led Zuckerberg to believe that Musk was never “serious” about fighting him in the first place. And from the other perspective, we now see Musk claiming that Zuckerberg is simply “retreating” from the fight.
Now, Musk has decided to take matters into his own hands, presenting a new challenge to Zuckerberg. “I challenge him to a duel under any circumstances,” Musk confidently declared on the Joe Rogan Experience.
He even acknowledged the potential unfairness of the match, thanks to his size advantage. “I’m a lot older than him. This is not fair. I don’t think he should fight me.” Rogan is quick to point out that size isn’t everything, especially when facing a respected fighter like Zuckerberg.
However, Musk once again referenced his patented “Walrus” move, hinting that he would simply lie on top of Zuckerberg to win the fight. As for what happens next between the two, Musk spoke “to Dr. Seuss,” commenting: “I’m ready to fight him in a house, over a rat, with a louse.”
It remains to be seen whether Zuckerberg will accept the duel and settle the feud once and for all.
