Following the collision, emergency workers cordoned off Epping Road in Marsfield, northwest of Sydney. Special police from the Crash Investigation Unit were called in and officers from Ryde Police Area Command established the crime scene. Traffic congestion is expected to last until Saturday evening, with NSW Police advising drivers to avoid the area. Police are also asking anyone with information or who has dash cam or mobile phone video of the event to contact them.
