Netflix has just released a trailer for an upcoming miniseries based on the life of American fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick. Halston chronicles the rise and fall of the influential fashionista, with Ewan McGregor starring and Ryan Murphy (American horror story) on writing and production duties.
The trailer opens with Depeche Mode Enjoy the silence as McGregor stared at the New York skyline while speaking; “I have a vision. I will change the face of American fashion.”

The trailer goes on to show Halston living the high life in Studio 54 as the drugs and partying lifestyle begin to take their toll. The official synopsis from Netflix reads:
“The limited series ‘Halston’ follows the legendary fashion designer (Ewan McGregor), as he leverages his unique, invented name into a global fashion empire synonymous with luxury , sexuality, status and fame, literally defined the era in which he lived, the New York of the 1970s and 1980s – until a hostile takeover forced him to fight for control of his fortune. My most precious asset… the name Halston.”
The film is directed by Daniel Minahan, who worked with Murphy on the controversial film. American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versaceand also stars Rory Culkin, Krysta Rodriguez, Bill Pullman and Vera Farmiga.
Halston will hit Netflix on May 14.
