Folake went to Igbinedion Education Center, a Montessori boarding school in Benin City for his primary education. She was then admitted to the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls in Ikeja and continued her studies at the Oxbridge Tutorial College. While studying economics with the intention of becoming a lawyer, Folake received a BA with honors in theater from City College, New York.
