GeoGuessr, the popular browser game where players have to guess different locations around the world, just held their first World Cup.
GeoGuessr is a popular, casual geography game in which players are shown a random location through a panoramic street view and then must pinpoint that location on a map. World map – based on clues like street signs and climate.

After GeoGuessr held the preliminary qualifying tournaments, they arranged the playoff groups for the World Cup event that took place from October 14-15 and peaked at 58k viewers on Twitch.

The final was between Consus of the Netherlands and Blinky of France, after both overcame some tough previous matches. The final was close between the two Geussrs, going down to the wire until Consus finally put the nail in the coffin to seal his victory, taking home the World Cup victory.
GeoGuessr fans and curious Twitch fans watched the event and received overwhelmingly positive reactions to it:
