HBO Announces ‘The Last of Us’ Stars 2023

The long-discussed adaptation of the hit video game The last of us finally has its stars. HBO has announced Pedro Pascal will play Joel and Bella Ramsey Ellie. Both choices will definitely make fans happy.

Pedro Pascal first rose to fame playing Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. He starred in the hit Netflix series drugs and has found a new legion of fans as the main character in Palestinians.

Bella Ramsey is another Game of Thrones Alumni. She got her break playing the feisty noblewoman Lyanna Mormont, who died at the hands of a resurrected giant. She also appeared in a number of British shows, but her role as Ellie would definitely catapult her to Hollywood.

For those who have slept under a rock, The last of us is one of the biggest video games of recent years. Set 20 years later, the world is devastated by a virus that turns people into zombies. Joel, a smuggler, is tasked with escorting Ellie, who is not infected with the virus, to a secret location in hopes of finding a cure.

Not only is the game challenging, but it also focuses on the relationship between an older Joel and a teenage Ellie. The two form a strong bond as they must overcome not only the undead but also their own kind. It’s a heartbreaking story of survival as the two must depend on each other as they make their way through post-apocalyptic America.

The Our final is being written by Craig Mazin (creator Chernobyl) and executive produced by Neil Druckmann, the game’s writer and creative director. Russian filmmaker Kantemir Balagov (man behind the successful film in Cannes) pea plant) is set to direct the first episode.
