In February 2014, Samira Frasch, a French model of Malagasy descent, was discovered dead at the bottom of the pool at her mansion in Tallahassee. Although the crime scene made Samira’s death appear accidental, subsequent autopsies showed that she died as a result of a combination of blunt force injuries to the head and drowning.
A three-year investigation into the model’s murder has shed light on the events that unfolded in the hours before her murder at the hands of her ex-husband, Adam Frasch. The murder of Samira Frasch will be discussed on Wednesday’s episode of Dateline: Secrets Uncovered. The summary of the episode titled At the Bottom of the Pool says:
“When a model and aspiring YouTube sensation is found dead, authorities interview her husband to see if he has any answers.”
The episode will air on Oxygen on February 15, 2023 at 8 pm ET.
Samira Frasch’s autopsy report, testimony from Adam’s cellmate and other information about the case
1) A maintenance staff discovered Samira’s body in the pool.
Gerald Gardner, a handyman, discovered Samira Frasch’s body at the bottom of his backyard pool in Tallahassee’s Golden Eagle gated community. He allegedly discovered the body shortly before 11 a.m. Samira was unresponsive, lying in the pool with only a leopard-print robe tied around her waist. Gerald then contacted authorities to report the murder and expressed his aversion to removing Samira’s body from the pool.
2) Samira Frasch’s autopsy report
At first, it appeared that Samira had slipped and fallen into the pool, perhaps while chasing her dog, which was discovered nearby. According to Oxygen, police determined that the circumstances at the scene were inconsistent with that premise upon closer scrutiny. Although there was a hose partially buried in the water with one of Samira’s shoes stuck underneath it, it looked artificial. Authorities were also perplexed as to how her ankle-strap sandals could have been removed so easily.
An autopsy determined that Samira died as a result of a combination of drowning and blunt force injuries to the head. Additionally, friends and family of the victim notified authorities that she did not know how to swim.
3) Adam Frasch was at the residence a few hours before his body was discovered.
According to sources, Samira’s ex-husband, Adam Frasch, spent the night before the murder at the residence. He left the next morning at 8 a.m., taking his two young children to Panama City Beach in a rented GMC Yukon. Three hours later, they found his body.
Witnesses claimed to have seen someone like Samira at the scene after Adam left with his children. However, he was arrested for disobeying a court order granting Samira sole temporary custody of her children. At the time of the attack, the couple was in the process of divorcing. Authorities reportedly observed a scratch under Adam’s eye during the arrest.
4) The night before the murder, Samira and Adam fought.
Samira, according to Adam Frasch, was a violent drinker who drank two bottles of champagne the night before her body was discovered in the pool. However, a toxicology check revealed that she had no evidence of alcohol in her system. That night, the couple allegedly clashed when Samira discovered an intimate video of Adam with an ex-girlfriend. Additionally, she supposedly had many relationships at the time.
The couple was going through a bitter divorce and custody fight, with Samira Frasch possibly receiving custody of their daughters, home ownership, and alimony.
5) At Adam Frasch’s trial, his cellmate testified and provided information about the murder of Samira Frasch.
One of Adams’ cellmates, Dale Folsom, testified during the trial and claimed that the father of two told him the facts of the murder. Frasch reportedly assaulted Samira Frasch in the head with a golf club before pushing her into the pool. He said it was an accident and that Adam didn’t mean to kill her.
According to The Tallahassee Democrat, officials later discovered Samira’s DNA on a golf club at her residence. However, the medical examiner stated that the club in question did not cause the victim’s head injuries.
