How did Umar Sheikh die? Former CCPO Lahore passes away 2023

The entire Pakistan Police Service is mourning the passing of their talented and beloved Metropolitan Police Officer, who was serving in Lahore. Yes, the police officer has been identified as Umar Sheikh, who sadly passed away on Wednesday evening, March 22, 2023. According to sources, Umar Sheikh breathed his last in Lahore on Thursday Wednesday this week. Now, many officials are coming to pay their respects to him and express their deep sorrow for family members who have just lost a loved one in the family. Sheikh served as a dedicated police officer for a long time and unfortunately, he has left this world.

Cause of death of Umar Sheikh

Since the news about Umar Sheikh was confirmed, many officials and individuals began paying tribute to him on the Internet and expressing their sincere grief for his family. One of the posts on Twitter read “Sincere condolences to the family of former CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh who passed away, May his soul rest in peace”. The tweet was made by Zahid Gishkori. Throughout his career, he has received great respect and affection from colleagues and senior officials. He served his country for a long time and after that, he devoted his life to his family.

The honorary policeman passed away from a heart attack. In Rahim Yar Khan, where he was born, people will pray for his funeral. For the retired police officer, condolences began to come from all walks of life.

Mr. Sheikh completed his studies at George Washington University in the United States in digital forensics and cyber law. He went on to hold many sought-after positions in the police force, intelligence department and NACTA. He worked as a district police officer for many years, holding posts in Dera Ghazi Khan, Jamshoro, Jacobabad Nawabshah and Larkana. He worked for four years at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington and seven years at the Intelligence Bureau.

In 2020, he gained fame and was appointed as CCPO Lahore but later, he was dismissed due to a controversy in which his audio chat went viral on the Internet and because of this he also lost his image in society.
