Jin Fang is missing
A Chinese woman went missing months after traveling to California with a local man, who was found dead recently. Jin Fang, communicated online for six months with John Root Fitzpatrick, before flying to Los Angeles on July 14, 2023. Fitzpatrick, a resident of Morongo Valley, was chosen by her to be her tour guide for myself. “Fitzpatrick was hired as Jin’s tour guide in the Morongo Basin area,” said Gloria Huerta, Chief of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Hi-Desert Star. It’s unclear how long they’ll camp out, but that’s the plan. Fitzpatrick was found dead in Harper Canyon, south of State Route 78, in Anza-Borrego Desert Park, last month.
The case of Jin Fang’s disappearance is attracting public attention. China’s Guangdong province is the hometown of Jin Fang, the missing woman. After six months of virtual conversations, on July 14, she boarded a plane from China to Los Angeles, where she met Fitzpatrick, who lives in Morongo Valley, California. After spending the night at an inn in downtown Los Angeles, she took the train to Palm Unveils on July 15, where Fitzpatrick picked her up and told her about the Morongo Bowl. Over the next few days, Jin talked to loved ones over the phone and entertained virtually.
However, investigators discovered that Jin had not been in contact with anyone since July 22. Her most recent entertainment post on the internet mentioned that she and Fitzpatrick were climbing in the Park Joshua Tree Public. San Bernardino Regional Police, along with Jin’s family, have released information regarding Jin’s whereabouts, which may be of interest to many customers online. Additionally, the family has called for pledges of support on various platforms to accumulate $10,000 as payment to sources providing information related to Jin. Fitzpatrick met Fang on July 15 in Palm Springs and drove her to Joshua Tree Public Park, according to a GoFundMe website created for her search.
