Mentioning the benefits of technology, he said it will help in using locally available construction materials, skills, local conditions, disaster prevention methods and save costs.

Crack gauges will be installed in various locations

The CBRI director said the institute will begin a detailed study from Thursday to assess the safety of 4,000 houses, to gain a deeper understanding of the structure, current condition, hazard assessment and cracks. in the building. He said crack meters will be installed at different locations to monitor cracks in identified houses and building-related risks will be classified into different categories based on the measurements crack width. Kumar said the exercise is expected to be completed within a week.
