Keith Lee has skyrocketed to fame over the past year thanks to the “Keith Lee effect,” where his food review videos have had a profound impact on the business of small restaurants.

Although his first foray as a food reviewer on TikTok came in December 2022, Keith Lee pretty much started his process in 2023.

Having recently gone on a “culinary tour” around the country, Keith Lee has changed the lives of restaurant owners in many cities along with his family.

It’s because of this that TikTok named the Bellator veteran their Breakout Star for 2023 — at least for the United States.

TikTok released its year-end report on December 6, 2023, revealing some of the app’s top creators and trends throughout the previous year.

In each section, they reveal things and people from both the US and global hit lists, and for “Breakout Star”, Keith Lee tops the US.

“Keith Lee is a creator based in Las Vegas, NV. He uses his platform to highlight family and small-owned restaurants that may have great food and customer service but aren’t widely known. He uses his food review format to give his honest opinion while enjoying one of his passions – eating food,” it reads.

They even shared a link to Keith’s review of Frankenson’s Pizza – one of the first reviews that really made Keith and his followers realize the impact social media had on the business.

In the US top 10 list, TikTok includes some other quite popular names such as Alix Earle, Young Miko and Sofia Richie Grainge.
