Despite having a bit of difficulty in the first half, Inter Milan played a bomb in the second half to defeat Benfica with a score of 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, which took place in the early morning of April 12.
Benfica is the only Portuguese representative present in the quarterfinals, while Inter Milan is only one of three Italian representatives present in this round.
Possessing a higher level of players, the away team played automatically as soon as the horse racing talent opened and put great pressure on Benfica’s goal.
However, the first dangerous problem belongs to the homeowner. In the 16th minute, from Dimarco’s clearance, midfielder Rafa Silva quickly determined the point in the penalty area, but goalkeeper Andre Onana played focused and promptly stopped the breaker.

In the 20th minute, it was Joao Mario’s turn to try a cross-angle shot, but the ball unfortunately went goal by goal. The away team, Inter Milan, responded to the opponent’s solid defense, when the explosives Lautaro Martinez and Dzeko could hardly create a breakthrough in attack.
In the 25th minute, Inter Milan midfielder Francesco Acerbi suddenly rose high and launched a cannon shot from far away. The ball was wide but a bit high compared to Benfica’s goal. By the 42nd minute, in the blink of an eye, the visitor had the opening goal.
Barella hooked the ball to Dimarco from the left wing. Unfortunately, Lautaro Martinez tapped the ball in front of the open goal. The first half ended without any goals scored.

5 minutes later, home team Benfica launched a very dangerous attack on the right wing. Joao Mario crossed at the bottom of the right edge, but Alex Grimaldo finished the tail of Inter Milan’s defender from close range. Goncalo Ramos, Fredrik Aursnes and Rafa Silva all came in as defenders but were blocked from the east by the away defenders.
Benfica’s job of leading the team must be to raise the team high in search of a draw and an opportunity for the visitors to make quick and dangerous counter-attacks. In the 66th minute, Correa spread the ball on the left wing before forcing a slot for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to finish. It is possible that goalkeeper Vlachodimos reacted and rushed out, narrowing the angle of the Armenian star.
