Mariah Carey attended the 2023 Billboard Music Awards with her holiday blockbuster “All I Want for Christmas is You,” the first time she has performed the song at an awards show.
Like clockwork, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” thaws from Halloween to soundtrack the season of shopping, gift-giving and gratitude.
This fun holiday gift has a history of being the biggest song of the year, storming the Spotify streaming charts and Billboard Hot 100. You can’t escape it.
What is surprising is that the pop queen has never performed this song live at an awards ceremony before. That all changed with this year’s BBMAs, in which Carey pulled out all the stops for a captivating and breezy performance. She was also awarded the Chart Achievement Award, which celebrates the song’s continued success and legacy.
