Markiplier explained his sudden absence from making YouTube videos in a short vlog, in which he asked fans to support his cousin’s business on Instagram.
Mark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach is one of YouTube’s most prominent gaming creators. Boasting over 35 million subscribers, he has been making videos for over a decade.
However, Mark is more than just a YouTuber. Throughout his career, he has also ventured into making interactive series such as ‘A Heist with Markiplier’ and ‘In Space with Markiplier’ and is currently working on his first feature film, ‘Iron Lung’.
In the midst of this latest project, Mark went AFK a few times due to his busy schedule. His latest absence caused him to take a 12-day hiatus from uploading videos – which came on the heels of another absence from the platform.

Markiplier explains where he’s been in YouTube’s absence
On September 29, Mark updated fans on where he’s been in a six-minute video, explaining that he’s currently visiting family in Korea and celebrating the national holiday, ‘Chuseok ‘.
That’s not all; he also stated that he was looking to create more content that explored his Korean heritage rather than typical gaming videos.
“I want to really get to know who I am and I want to invite you along on the journey,” he explains. “I want you to also admire Korean culture and explore Korean heritage while I am learning it.”
He’s also looking to add more Korean fashion to his clothing line, CLOAK. He hopes to record the line for his channel next year by collaborating with other creators.

Fans flooded cousin Markiplier’s Instagram account with positive messages
To conclude his update, Markiplier asked fans to follow his cousin on Instagram, who is a hairstylist for major K-Pop bands like BIGBANG.
According to Markiplier, hairstylists in that industry tend to get more work based on their social media presence — and because her following isn’t as large as others in the industry, Mark says she can use all the help she can get.
Markiplier also stated that his cousin tends to be the target of online harassment due to her profession and urged his fans to send some positivity her way. Already, many fans have flooded her comments section with positive comments and she has gained over 30 thousand followers in just a few hours since the video was uploaded.

Additionally, Mark said that his mother wants to start her own YouTube channel and that he will help her with this – so it looks like fans will be getting even more content from the YouTuber family their favorite in the near future.
Currently, it’s unclear when Markiplier will return to regular content production, but fans are excited about what’s to come based on this latest update.
