This past week, it was confirmed Master of nothing finally got a third season. Many were curious about how the show would fare now that star and creator Aziz Ansari has fallen out of the spotlight after he was accused of sexual misconduct in 2018. Now we have has the answer thanks to the film’s first trailer. new season.

Ansari is no longer the focus of the film, with Lena Waithe’s Denise established as the main character. Ansari is still heavily involved as the show’s writer and director, but Emmy winner Waithe, who is also credited as a co-writer, is taking center stage.
This season revolves around Denise and her relationship with partner Alicia (Naomi Ackie). As you can see in the trailer above, the two go through both the ups and downs of love, with Ansari even making a cameo appearance. The official synopsis reads:
This new installment is a modern love story that poignantly illustrates the ups and downs of marriage, the struggle with fertility, and personal growth both together and apart. Fleeting romantic highs meet crushing personal losses while existential questions about love and life are raised. Season three offers an evolution of the series that remains tied to the previous seasons while breaking new storytelling ground of its own.
Master of nothing will return to Netflix on May 23.
