A mother went viral after creating a TikTok video claiming to have found a cockroach under her daughter’s McDonald’s Happy Meal and then confronting staff about it. The whole thing has left viewers divided, though.
Whenever you eat out – be it at a fancy restaurant or something akin to fast food – you expect it to be solid. You don’t want one mistake to ruin your day, especially if you have to wait a while to satisfy your hunger.
Well, in the case of TikToker Hopelife525, she’s gone viral over the past few days due to an incident with her Happy Meal at McDonald’s that left her and her daughter quite unhappy after they found a cockroach in it.
After finding out, the TikToker returned to the store and urged other customers to “not eat here” and showed them the error.

From there, she asked to speak to the staff and showed them the horror and anger that her daughter must have seen. “I’m shaking. I’m so scared,” she told some staff members and shed tears. The TikToker eventually requested and received a refund.
Naturally, a lot of users took her side about the whole thing and said they would do the same in her case. “This is crazy, I’m so sorry you all had to go through that,” one person said.
“These comments are like if I saw a cockroach in my food I would be mad too,” another person replied. “Cockroaches can get so many diseases, I would be so angry. You all are trippin,” another commented.
However, there are also some people who disagree with her actions. “Calm down girl, no one will die,” one person said. “I feel like she overreacted. I would be so angry but she is afraid of WHAT?,” another person argued. “Girl, stop acting. Every restaurant has cockroaches.”
The TikToker made an update to wrap things up, saying she hoped to shed light on the hygiene issue but was surprised by some of the backlash.
“I’m so scared my daughter might eat a bug, a spider or anything. After all, it is a restaurant and they are undergoing hygiene checks,” she added.
