MrBeast seems certain that people will try to write him off for “helping people” after a recent YouTube upload where he traveled across Africa building 100 wells.
MrBeast only continued to grow tremendously as an influencer in 2023, breaking many records and partnering with major companies like Meta.
However, 2023 has not been without its share of controversies for the YouTube star and philanthropist, such as when he faced backlash after posting a video in which he paid over a thousand surgery to “cure blindness”.
Now, it seems the viral star is ahead of the curve after tweeting that he “doesn’t care” if people try to cancel him for “helping people,” after uploading a video shows him and his team building 100 wells in Africa.
MrBeast ‘doesn’t care’ if people try to cancel him
On November 4, 2023, MrBeast uploaded a video to his main YouTube channel titled “I built 100 wells in Africa”.
As the video suggests, the YouTube philanthropist and his team flew across Africa to help build wells in 100 locations to provide clean drinking water to villages and school systems.
Not long after posting the video, MrBeast posted following about X: “I already knew I was going to get canceled because I uploaded a video helping people and made it 100% clear that I wasn’t interested. I will always use my channel to help people and try to inspire my audience to do the same.”
At the time of writing, MrBeast’s video has more than 13 million views in just 4 hours, with 1.8 million likes compared to 13,000 dislikes. So it seems MrBeast anticipated the video’s concept would receive some criticism.
On the contrary, many of the responses to this YouTuber’s post were largely positive and encouraging.
Despite the backlash to some of his past charity efforts, it seems like this YouTuber isn’t going to let any naysayers stop him from moving forward.
