A former nurse has gone viral on TikTok after revealing that she used to use Uber to work because it was cheaper than paying for parking.
TikToker and former nurse Sarah (sarahkrugel1) has sparked a debate after revealing that she used to take an Uber to work because it was cheaper than having to pay for parking herself.
In a viral 10-second clip, the content creator shared the struggle she faced reaching the hospital where she works as a nurse. Instead of driving herself, Sarah was forced to use a ride-hailing service because it was cheaper than parking costs.
“Paying to park at work can be a crime,” she captioned her video, which showed her in the back of an Uber car being driven to work.
In some of her recent posts, the TikToker revealed that she decided to leave her nursing career for a variety of reasons, including parking.

Many TikTok users said they were in a similar situation, with some sharing the staggering daily parking fees they had to pay. One person commented: “I pay $30 a day for parking at my job.
“I live 9 minutes from work, have absolutely no reason to drive and pay, I just pay Uber,” another wrote. “I work answering phones at a hospital and parking is $15, you can park for $11 but it takes an extra 30 minutes because you have to walk,” a third person shared .
Others say it’s unreasonable for employees to have to pay for parking at their workplace, especially in the healthcare sector. “Employees should always have free parking!” one user said.
Another added: “Charging healthcare workers for parking is crazy, without my subsidy it would be $250 a month.” “The idea of parking to work makes me dizzy,” another wrote.
